Which states should have the highest minimum wage?

The target minimum wage for each state, calculated by economist Arindrajit Dube in a paper for the Hamilton Project, equals one half of the state's median hourly wage rate for full-time workers in 2012, adjusted for 2014 dollars. States with no individual minimum wage law or that tie theirs to the federal minimum are listed at $7.25 per hour.
