The figures in the charts below concern farmland preserved through Pennsylvania's farmland preservation program. Some of Lancaster County's 100,000 preserved acres have come without state funding. The per-acre averages are based on the amounts paid for the development rights to farms through the state program since it preserved its first acre in December 1989. The state program has preserved 486,628 acres in 25 years. The state funding figures reflect what has been allocated for 2014.
