Through the Years, Students Pay More of the Tab

In the 2014 fiscal year, public colleges' reliance on tuition revenue dipped slightly compared to their state and local appropriations on a per-student basis. But from 1980 to 2014, state and local appropriations have shrunk from 79 percent of educational revenue per full-time student to 53 percent.
